Gwen Badham

1964 - 2023

Exposition

Quand : samedi 12 août 2023 10:00

Où : 318 ch. Knowlton, Knowlton, QC J0E 1V0

Beloved mom of Dominica & Taylor Badham-Sayer, adopted daughter of Linda Hoyt, adopted mother to Chrissy Royea, ‘Nana Gwen’ to Alex and Jake Rumsby, and bestie to Candi Dennis (Karen Ouellet), was taken too soon for her loved ones on July 31, 2023 from Cancer. Born August 25, 1964 in Montreal, she became a long time resident of Knowlton as an adult and always loved the surrounding townships, having lived a time in Ayer’s Cliff and Mansonville as well.

Loving mom, friend to many, support to countless and a truly giving heart, she will be deeply missed. She worked for many years at the Maison des Jeunes Sutton (as well as Knowlton) with the youth and community. Always a woman of big heart and quick wit, she was well known for her drive to always be there when you needed her. An avid gamer of Fortnite and active online women’s heart health community member as well, she will be missed by her online friends Jackie and Alexis alike.

She was greeted in heaven by her children Travis & Sarah Badham, as well as her parents Tony Badham (Danny Vallieres) and Pauline Underwood; as well as Fluff, her trusted cat companion and always ‘Favorite Child’. Left to cherish her memories are her brother Anthony Badham; her family ‘across the pond’ Kenny, Stephen & Robert Beech, and John & Khalisa Green, and many many more; ex’s (but still family) Kevin Woodard (father to Travis and Sarah) and Garth Sayer (father to Dominica and Taylor) and so many friends I wish it was possible to name them all. A viewing will be at the

on August 12, 2023. We invite her friends and all those that knew her to come share their memories and stories with us from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. A PowerPoint of her life will be on display. We encourage you to bring your favorite photos to add to the collection which will be available to those that wish it at a later time. We also encourage you to share your favorite memories and moments with us.

Gwen has requested to have some of herself buried alongside Travis and Sarah in Mansonville, which will be done by family another day, and for Dominica, Taylor and Chrissy to travel and spread her remaining ashes elsewhere.

In lieu of flowers we ask that a donation be made to the Heart Life Foundation (Heartlife.ca) or to the Canadian Cancer Society on her behalf.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Livre d'or

I only got to know Gwen in the past year or so but am truly sad to hear of her passing. Gwen constantly impressed me with her good sense, insight and devotion towards La maison des jeunes in Sutton. Gwen made her mark on so many of Sutton’s youth in the most positive ways possible. Her legacy will live on in them.

Many moons ago Gwen worked with me at the CABMN, ( in those days known as Citizen Advocacy). We used to walk home together after work as the snow fell and we’d make Christmas decorations….well, she would and I would watch. In those days she loved Christmas! Gwen’s kids were her everything! I used to accompany her each year to go to the cemetery to remember Sarah…. In my viewpoint, Gwen put up a great facade as being guarded and maybe a bit hard. She was those things but, she was also extremely funny with a sarcastic bite and she was devoted to those she loved. To Dom and Taylor and to those in Gwen’s close circle, I send my deepest sympathies. To Gwen…I’m glad our paths crossed in life and I will never forget you.
