Gordon Francis Ladd

Gordon Francis Ladd est décédé paisiblement le 20 octobre 2018 au Manoir Lac Brome de Knowlton, Québec. Gordon est né le 21 novembre 1929 à Sweetsburg. Il a grandi à Bondville, a fréquenté l’école secondaire Knowlton et a travaillé pour Bell Canada pendant 38 années. À l’âge de 38 ans, Gordon a commencé à prendre des cours d’art. Quand il a pris sa retraite de Bell Canada à l’âge de 55 ans, il est devenu peintre à temps plein. Bien connu pour ses peintures de paysage, Gordon était un artiste et un enseignant à succès. Il a enseigné à beaucoup d’élèves à sa maison. Il était un photographe avide de la nature et un homme de plein air qui adorait les randonnées, la pêche, la natation, la raquette, le canoë, le ski de fond et le jardinage. Son amour du grand air lui a offert beaucoup d’inspiration pour son art. Il était un joueur de bridge enthousiaste et un membre de l’église St. Paul’s Anglican de Knowlton. 
Gordon laisse dans le deuil son épouse depuis 67 ans, Phyllis (Norton), son fils Stuart (Debra), petite-fille Kelly (Stuart), son arrière-petite-fille Alice et sa petite-fille par alliance Fumiko. Son fils Ken (Nancy), son petit-fils Aaron, ses arrière-petites-filles Aidyn et Haylee, son arrière-petit-fils Harley ainsi que son frère Hap et sa belle-sœur Joyce, plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Gordon fût prédécédé de ses parents Jay Maro et Edna Alta (Hooper), de ses sœurs, Leila Peron (Stanley), Doris Shover (Marshall), Vera Coburn (Wallace), de son frère Dean, sa belle-sœur Ginger et de son petit-fils Andrew. La famille aimerait remercier le personnel médical et de soutien du Manoir Lac Brome, Barbara Burbank et son personnel pour leurs bons soins et le support pendant les dernières semaines de Gordon. La famille vous accueillera le vendredi 23 novembre de 19h à 21h au salon funéraire

Gordon Francis Ladd passed away peacefully on October 20, 2018, at the Manoir Lac Brome in Knowlton, Quebec. Gordon was born on November 21, 1929, in Sweetsburg. He grew up in Bondville, attended Knowlton High School, and worked for Bell Canada for 38 years. At the age of 38, Gordon began taking art lessons. When he retired from Bell Canada at the age of 55, he became an artist full-time. Well-known for his landscape paintings, Gordon was a successful artist and teacher, instructing many students in his home. He was an avid nature photographer and outdoorsman who loved hiking, fishing, snorkeling, snowshoeing, canoeing, cross-country skiing, and gardening. He drew inspiration for his art from his love of the outdoors. He was also an enthusiastic bridge player and member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Knowlton.
Gordon is survived by his wife of 67 years, Phyllis (Norton); son Stuart (Debra) and granddaughter Kelly (Stuart), great-granddaughter Alice and granddaughter-in-law Fumiko. Son Ken (Nancy), grandson Aaron, great granddaughters Aidyn and Haylee, and great grandson Harley, brother Hap, sister-in-law Joyce and many nieces and nephews.
Gordon is predeceased by his parents, Jay Maro and Edna Alta (Hooper), sisters, Leila Peron (Stanley), Doris Shover (Marshall), Vera Coburn (Wallace); brother, Dean; sister-in-law Ginger and grandson, Andrew. The family would like to thank the medical and support staff of Manoir Lac Brome and Barbara Burbank and her staff for their kind care and support during Gordon’s final weeks.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 23, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the
