Dr. William «Bill» Barakett

Janie, Elise, and David and families We are crushed by this news of Bill's passing, and we are thinking of you, and sending our hugs and prayers. It is not fair, of course, to you or to the community, but we will try to laugh a bit and remember his smile, his dedication to others, to his preferred charities such as the Butters Foundation, his love, and knowledge of Scotch, and golf, your Nova Scotia retreat, and his love of people and his community. We can only remember fondly any interaction we've had with him, and Debbie of course had many years of working with him at the BMP. Being in attendance in the O.R. when he birthed our son Kieran is a highlight of our lives. We will deeply miss sitting with him and exchanging views. "Dr. Bill" is a pillar of the community. As long time patients of Doctor Barakett we were saddened and shocked his passing. Bill recently mentioned to me that I was one of his original patients when he first arrived in Cowansville back in the early 1970’s. Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Barakett family.

Words cannot express the sadness that is felt by me, my family and all that knew and loved Dr. Bill. Not only was he my Dr, after Dr. Pincott retired, but I worked along side of him in the OBS department for many years at BMP .I remember when he first came to the hospital as a young intern, working along side Dr. Pincott. I felt safe with him as my Dr. My most heartfelt sympathies to his wife Janie, his son and daughter and grand daughter, and family and close friends.

Bill and I met as undergraduates at McGill and found we just liked each other. Although we lost touch and went our separate ways, about thirty years ago, we crossed paths in Knowlton, completely by chance. Bill immediately called out my name in warm recognition. This week, when I heard he’d died, I was shocked to tears. Such is the mystery of friendship with such a person. This is a profound loss. My sincerest condolences to his family.

Dr. Barakett was the Partridge's and Perry's family doctor for over 45 years. So very thankful for his dedication, the professional care given, and the weekly house calls to our loved ones when they could no longer go to his office. Our sincere condolences to the Barakett family.

I knew Bill when he was a newly practicing doctor and I a new teacher at Massey Vanier. Although we didn’t keep in touch he was always a fond memory in my heart.

Was deeply saddened to hear of Dr. Bill's passing. We played golf and dined with him & Janie a few times in Mexico. A warm, caring and passionate gentleman who will be dearly missed by his family and community. Our thoughts and prayers are with Janie and family.

Il m a transmis sa passion je pense et j ai eu une pratique polyvalente, urgence, hospite, bureau prive et CHSLD... Alors est ce trop tard pour lui dire simplement merci...
