1939 - 2016
After a brave struggle with cancer and other illnesses, Heather passed away on December 12, 2016. She was the much cherished wife of 54 years of her husband Peter, and the loving mother of Timothy, Susan (Rik Parkhill), and Elizabeth (Eric Wolfe). She will also be missed by her grandchildren Alec, Charles and Jamie Wolfe, and Claire Parkhill to whom she was a much loved “Nana”.
Heather graduated from McGill University in Physical and Occupational Therapy, and subsequently returned to obtain a B Sc while juggling a job, three small children and general family management. She works for several hospitals throughout her career, however, she had a special place in her heart for St. Mary’s Hospital where she served for 35 years including as Head of the Physio Department. She cherished her many friends and associates there. Heather will also be missed by her friends in Knowlton where she lived for the past many years.
Heather grew up in Hampstead, Quebec, and spent most of her summers in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, on her grandparent’s homestead. During their life together, Heather and Peter also lived in Toronto and Winnipeg where they established strong friendships which they continue(d) to cherish to this day.
Heather was an accomplished tennis player, including being a keen member of the McGill Ladies intercollegiate team. Later, she was a frequent finalist in the Brome Lake Boating Club doubles championships, only yielding to much younger players in hard fought contests.
