I met Kathleen while helping to develop a research program at the Constance Lethbridge Rehabilitation Centre. She was a wonderful director, and helpful in every way possible. She also became a friend. While I had lost touch with her over the years, she was always in my mind and heart, as she was a great humanitarian, and her cheerful attitude and smile will always remain in my memory. Condolences to everyone in her extended family and close friends.

John and my Canadian family: I was very upset to hear about Kathy's passing. Kathy managed to combine her fearsome intelligence with warmth and kindness and we always found her enthusiasms infectious and endearing. Always good company, we will miss her. At least she will be with my Mother, Barbara (Fowles), who adored her!

Kathy was a dedicated and cherished member of the Yamaska Literacy Council for many years. She will be missed. Our deepest sympathies to John and her family and loved ones.

I am deeply sorry for your loss dear Dr Fowles. My heart goes out to you during this difficult time. Kathy was a wonderful and gracious person, and her kindness and warmth will always be remembered. I will always remember her warmth and hospitality when I visited less than two years ago at Bolton. She welcomed me with such generosity, making me feel right at home and giving me a tour of the wonderful garden around the little lake. My arrival to Canada and my visit to Prince Arthur coincided with your wedding in 1987 in Montreal. That time will always be a special time for me and Kathy a special person. May you find comfort in the love of family and friends and in the cherished memories you shared together. With my deepest condolences, Rachid and the Zaiane family.

Condoleances to John and all the family. As neighbors in Bolton-Ouest, we had the opportunity to share sunny moments over cookies and tea, discussing gently, looking at the fantastic garden and splendid birds and nature. Thanks for these good thoughts that we will keep warmly in our hearts.

Christine and Quentin

My sincere condolences to John and to Kathy’s siblings and their families. I met Kathy over 40 years ago in Toronto. She was a very loving, kind and helpful friend to me over all those years. We spent many special times together in her beautiful garden, and hiking in the woods. I miss you Kathy. Rest in peace. Glacia D’Cambre
